The unexpected faces on the frontlines of ICE raids
Film | Digital | Illinois | Field Producer + Cinematographer + Social Editor
As soon as the Trump administration began its immigration crackdown in Chicago—known as Operation Midway Blitz—teenage brothers Ben and Sam Luhmann stepped up to the front lines. Armed with phone and body cameras, Ben and Sam patrol the Chicago suburbs in hopes of tracking ICE agents and filming raids they see as unwarranted and unjustified. The teens are both homeschooled, and dedicate five hours each day to help a rapid-response network of volunteers that documents ICE raids and assists families of those detained in the arrests.

The unexpected faces on the frontlines of ICE raids
Film | Digital | Minnesota | Field Producer + Cinematographer + Social Editor
In December, the Trump administration started flooding the Minneapolis area with thousands of federal agents, calling their actions the “largest immigration enforcement operation ever.” What has followed feels more like a paramilitary occupation, and even Native Americans—whose ancestors predate the United States itself—have been stopped and detained by ICE. Federal agents roam the streets, pulling over people who appear to them as immigrants. Residents patrol their neighborhoods, and are met with tear gas and pepper balls as they attempt to document and disrupt arrests. Some encounters have even turned violent. Federal agents have now shot and killed two demonstrators in Minneapolis, Renee Good and Alex Pretti.

They claim that insurance companies' use of AI models have error rates as high as 90%, can often contradict doctors’ recommendations, and can result in the denial of life-saving medical care.

Why Democrats’ Midterm Strategy Won’t Work
Show | Digital | New York | Cinematographer + Editor
Democrats think they have a chance to win the Senate majority this year — and they’re turning to 2006 for lessons on how to do that. In recent months, political analysts have shifted their evaluation of the 2026 Senate races. No longer are Republicans considered a total lock. Democrats’ path to the majority is very narrow, but it now exists. And to capitalize on that path, the party is trying to replicate the strategy that worked for them under the last second-term Republican president: a play-everywhere, moderate-heavy approach aimed at broadening the number of potential pickups. That strategy is necessary — there’s no path to a majority without competing in Trump country. But it has major problems: Americans’ voting patterns have changed significantly in the past 20 years. Voters’ attitudes towards traditional politicians have also changed. And, most of all, Donald Trump is not yet on George W. Bush’s trajectory — or is he?
